KUALA LUMPUR: Popular comedian Din Beramboi, 43, was buried at Taman Ehsan Muslim cemetery in Kepong before Friday prayers today.
Din Beramboi or Mior Ahmad Fuad Mior Badri died of haemorrhagic dengue fever at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Selayang Hospital at 12.30am today.
Din Beramboi leaves wife Suhaini Che Man, 42, and three children, Nil Aina Adibah, 18, Mior Ahmad Shafiq, 16, and Nirain,6.
His sister Rozana, 39, said all family members except his father Mior Badri who has a heart ailment, were at his bedside.
"He passed away peacefully with a dash of smile on his face," she told Bernama at Selayang Hospital today.
About 2,000 people paid their last respects to him at his mother-in-law's house in Taman Ehsan before it was taken to Masjid Al-Fa'izin, Taman Desa Jaya, Kepong for prayers.
Fellow artistes present include his Radio Era co-presenter Aznil Nawawi, Aziz M. Osman, Bob Lokman, Afdlin Shauki, Sharifah Shahirah and husband Ijoi, Fizo Omar, Astro executive director Zaini Amirullah and Media Prima Berhad chief executive officer Datuk Seri Farid Ridzuan.
Zaini described Din Beramboi's death as a big loss to entertainment adding Astro will show a special programme on the comedian tonight.
"As a sign of mourning, we will not show programmes featuring him for three days," he said.
Farid said Din Beramboi had the ablity to entertain people even in times of sorrow.
"He was well liked and was always concerned with problems faced by friends," said Farid who knew Din Beramboi since 1993. -- BERNAMA
